Bowl making class at my shop

This 4 hours class will give you a sense of how fun wood turning is No prior experience is required. All equipment, tools, gear, wood are provided. Ok to bring your own tool. You will learn both of the main skills in wood turning: face plate turning and how to create the basic spindle shapes and cuts.

Each student has their own dedicated lathe and needed tools for the full course. The shop is well equipped with four lathes, sharpening stations, band saws, drill press and dust system.  The Lathes are a Rikon mini and a Laguna 18/36, each fully capable of all we will do in the class. The variety of tools will provide students the opportunity to experience different techniques.

I create an enjoyable atmosphere tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. With a maximum of three students, the class can readily be customized so that each proceeds at his or her own pace to get the most out of the experience.

Everyone will take away a smooth rimmed wooden bowl.
